Municipality Cracks Down on Building Violations Amid 10 Cases Found in Hawalli

Municipality

Kuwait Municipality has launched an intensive inspection campaign targeting construction, renovation, and building activities in private, model, and investment residential areas. The aim is to ensure engineering offices and contractors are following building regulations and requirements.

Meshari Al-Turkait, Head of the Hawalli Municipality team, stated that the campaign is also focused on raising awareness about municipal laws. He warned that there will be no leniency when dealing with violations, and strict legal action will be taken against those who break the rules.

During recent inspections in Hawalli, ten violations were recorded after property owners failed to respond to earlier warnings. The violations included damaged building facades, unauthorized apartments added to the ground floor, and improper use of basements.

Al-Turkait added that all necessary legal procedures were taken according to building regulations and that notices were sent to violators through the Sahl application. He emphasized the municipality’s ongoing efforts to carry out inspection tours across all governorates to ensure compliance.
