Muthanna Complex Tenants Given July 30 Eviction Deadline

Adoreve Kuwait Mutahanna

The Ministry of Finance has asked all tenants of the Muthanna Complex to vacate their units by Wednesday, July 30, according to a notice sent by the company managing the complex. Tenants are expected to coordinate with the management for a smooth handover of the leased spaces.

This move follows a decision by the Higher Committee for Public-Private Partnership Projects, which approved the Muthanna Complex for public auction under the Partnership Law. The entire complex, including commercial and residential units, must be vacated within 30 days.

However, legal experts say the eviction notice may be unlawful, noting that proper eviction requires a demolition permit and a six-month grace period for tenants. They added that for renovation works, evacuation is not required.

Meanwhile, the Public-Private Partnership Authority has invited bids for Auction No. 2/2025, covering the development, maintenance, and operation of the Muthanna Complex project.
